Ex- Serviceman overcomes serious injury and discovers his true identity through his unique connection with nature.
At Ease is an internet based virtual exhibition taking place from the 1st of July 2023, created by Keith Harness, showcasing his extended photography project created during photography studies with the Open College of the Arts, over a twelve-month period.
influenced by the work of Ansel Adams and Clyde Butcher, photographs from this series have a unique high contrast black and white appearance which captivates his personality over twenty- five years on from injury and his intermate connection with nature. Inviting the viewer to accompany him on a personal journey to an invisible entity, a place where he feels at ease within natures embrace.
Having remarkably survived an horrific injury which saw Keith’s life change within an instant during 1994, whilst serving with his regiment in central Bosnia. In- patient treatment over a ten-month period provided Keith with a basis for his long-term rehabilitation which saw him begin his transition to a life with physical disabilities and visual impairment.
A process which saw the emergence of an altered character, with an inner determination and strong will to succeed. Which has enabled Keith to achieve the unthinkable and break away from the stereotype perspective of disability. Today he acts as an inspiration to others who find themselves in a similar situation.
His virtual exhibition titled “At Ease” is now available for all to view online and is worth taking the time to view.
